9 injured as IED blast rocks Bengaluru's Rameshwaram Cafe, CM Siddaramaiah confirms
Bengaluru/IBNS: Nine people were injured in a bomb explosion that rocked a popular Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru's Kundalahalli on Friday, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told reporters.
The blast was caught on CCTV. The police are trying to find out those responsible behind the IED explosion at The Rameshwaram Cafe.
After a team of the anti-terror National Investigation Agency (NIA), bomb squad, and forensics laboratory reached the cafe, the Chief Minister told reporters that an improvised explosive device (IED) was used in the attack on the cafe.

"I have information that post noon, someone kept a bag and left...The injured are out of danger. CCTV is being examined. They are saying it is an improvised explosive blast. We don't know if it is a terror attack. I have told the Home Minister (Dr G Parameshwara) to go there," the CM told reporters in Mysuru.
"The impact was low intensity, but it was an IED. Such blasts have happened under all governments, but should not have happened. Such things have not happened recently other than Mangaluru. It had not happened under our government. We will find out what happened," he said.
The police have filed an FIR under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosive Substances Act.
BJP's Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya in a post on X, formerly Twitter, said he spoke to the cafe owner about what could have caused the explosion that left nine people injured.
Just spoke to Rameshwaram Café founder Sri Nagaraj about the blast in his restaurant.

He informed me that the blast occurred because of a bag that was left by a customer and not any cylinder explosion. One of their employees is injured.
It’s seems to be a clear case of bomb…
All the injured people were treated at Brookfield Hospital and are out of danger, Karnataka Police Chief Alok Mohan said.
