In the early hours of Monday, a horrific incident unfolded at Pragathi Nagar Bathukamma Ghat, where a 21-year-old youth, identified as Teja, fell victim to a group of unidentified assailants.

The assailants, armed with a knife, brutally murdered Teja, as captured in a disturbing video subsequently posted on Instagram.

According to police reports, Teja, previously involved in a murder case and recently released from jail, was residing in Pragathi Nagar with his mother.

The tragic incident occurred while Teja was consuming alcohol with his friends on Sunday. Alone at the Bathukamma ghat at 0330 hours, he was ambushed by the group, resulting in his fatal stabbing.

One of the perpetrators shared a video on Instagram brandishing the bloodied knife used in the crime while dancing, claiming the act as vengeance.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police added.
