Excise policy case against Arvind Kejriwal biggest political conspiracy post-independence: Sanjay Singh
Chandigarh/IBNS/UNI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh Tuesday said that the excise policy case against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders of the outfit is the "biggest political conspiracy after independence".
Addressing a press conference here, Sanjay Singh said the case has been registered under a "conspiracy" and there is no intention of investigating any scam.
"The motive is to topple the Aam Aadmi Party governments in Delhi and Punjab, despite their thumping majority. It is an attempt to stop the growing popularity of the AAP and its achievement of getting national party status in 10 years," the AAP leader said.
He said if anyone committed any scam it was the BJP and a Rs 60 crore money trail has been found against them.
Singh said in Kejriwal's case, "false witnesses" were prepared, and "baseless allegations" were made.
He said ten statements were recorded but only two were produced in the court. The rest are hidden because they do not match their propaganda and don't include the needed lies," he said.
"Magunta Reddy gave ten statements, In the last two statements, as soon as he mentioned Kejriwal's name, immediately his son Raghav Reddy got bail. Magunta, against whom the BJP actually started this investigation, is now asking for votes under the BJP's banner and putting Modi's picture everywhere," he said.
When he named Kejriwal in his statement he got bail for his back pain.
Singh said another witness E Chandan suffered hearing loss as the interrogators tore his eardrum. He later appealed to the High Court. Sameer Mahendru and Arun Pellu were pressurised and intimidated to name Arvind Kejriwal as they wanted to make this whole case against him.
"I want to ask the most corrupt party and their government after the independence of India that when the money trail of Rs 60 crore rupees was found directly against you, why are your leaders not being interrogated by ED and CBI, why isn't the AG writing a letter now?"
"What is the reason that the company whose profit is zero, that company is giving hundreds of crores of funds to you people? There are fake firms and companies donating hundreds of crores to the BJP. Why ED and CBI are not investigating that?" he asked.
He said "fake companies" were found donating to the BJP for elections. "Why don't BJP leaders get questioned and arrested? Why aren't they raided?"
He reiterated that the entire case is fake, and only a political conspiracy against Arvind Kejriwal. The statements that did not mention the name of Arvind Kejriwal are deliberately being left out of the proceedings and are not being put in front of the court.
"If all the facts are not presented before the court, then how will justice be done? Arvind Kejriwal's lawyers are doing their work, the lawyers are constantly inspecting the documents. Soon Arvind Kejriwal will get justice from the High Court," he said.
He said when ED and CBI had to investigate against Arvind Kejriwal, they became all-powerful and know-it-all but when it comes to the BJP they say "We do not remember anything, we did not see anything, this is a blatant misuse of investigation agencies."
The Aam Aadmi Party is contesting elections on 23 seats. "Aam Aadmi Party's ministers, MLAs and workers will campaign wholeheartedly on every seat plus all seats and states where we are contesting with the INDIA alliance."
He described BJP's boast of getting 400 plus seats in the coming polls as "just a hollow slogan, nothing else".
"Now Modi is just getting nervous and this nervousness is because he knows they are losing," Singh said.
