New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi won't be able to make it to the rallies organised by the INDIA bloc in Ranchi on Sunday as he is unwell, according to the party’s senior leader Jairam Ramesh.

Ramesh explained in a post on X platform that Rahul Gandhi had plans to speak at a campaign in Satna and participate in the Ranchi rally, but he suddenly fell ill.

Instead, Mallikarjun Kharge, the party president, will represent them at the rally in Jharkhand's capital.

Various prominent figures from the INDIA bloc, such as Bhagwant Mann, the Chief Minister of Punjab, and Lalu Yadav, the leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), are anticipated to be present at the 'Ulgulan Nyay' rally in Ranchi.

Sunita Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife, and Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, are also scheduled to attend.

The primary focus of this mega event will be on the recent arrests of Kejriwal and Soren by the Enforcement Directorate. Nearly 500,000 people are expected to participate in the rally, which is set to start at around 3 pm at Ranchi’s Prabhat Tara ground.

The rally has been organised by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) as a unified display of strength amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
