Rajkot: A 16-year-old girl from Gujarat’s Morbi, who had scored top marks in the board exams, passed away due to a brain haemorrhage on Wednesday.

Heer Ghetiya, who scored a remarkable 99.70 percent in the Class 10 exams conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB), had undergone surgery for a brain haemorrhage at a private hospital in Rajkot about a month ago.

Although she was discharged and returned home following the operation, she began experiencing respiratory and cardiac issues again around a week ago.

She suffered a brain haemorrhage and underwent an operation in a private hospital in Rajkot a month ago.

She was discharged but started having breathing and heart problems again around a week ago.

An MRI report revealed that approximately 80 to 90 percent of her brain function had ceased.

Heer passed away on Wednesday due to heart failure.

Her parents have decided to donate her eyes and her body.

"Heer wanted to be a doctor. We donated her body so that even if she couldn't become a doctor, she will be able to help save other lives," her father said, reported India Today.
