Bengaluru/IBNS: The probe into the murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy in Karnataka's Bengaluru has revealed Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa borrowed Rs. 40 lakh from his friend and paid other accused to destroy evidence, media reports said.

The actor has reportedly confessed to the police officials.

Darshan, his girlfriend Pavithra Gowda and 11 others have been arrested for allegedly planning and executing the murder.

Chilling details of the murder

The probe has found out that Renukaswamy's testicles were ruptured and had an ear missing.

Renukaswamy's face was half-eaten by dogs when the victim's body was found in the drain.

The victim was tied, beaten up with sticks and was given electric shocks before his body dumped in the drains of Kamakshipalya, probe report finds.

Genesis of the murder

According to police, the victim had posted an objectionable comment on Kannada actress Pavithra Gowda's Instagram handle accusing her of causing a rift between Thoogudeepa and his wife Vijaya Lakshmi.

This happened after Pavithra posted an Instagram video celebrating his 10-year relationship with Darshan, who has been married to Vijaya Lakshmi for 20 years.

Darshan's aides reportedly carried Renukaswamy in a taxi from Chitradurga to their Bengaluru hideout where they tortured the victim to death.

After allegedly beating to death, Renukaswamy's body was dumped in a stormwater drain at an area which falls under Kamakshipalya Police Station.

Police reportedly got to know from a food delivery man who saw a dog eating the body of the victim.
