Jaya Bachchan's viral nomination form contradicts actress-MP's objection to Amitabh's mention in her name

New Delhi/IBNS: Bollywood's senior actress and Samajwadi Party MP Jaya Bachchan, who is widely known on social media for her public display of anger at paparazzi, has recently sharply countered Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh for referring to her as 'Smt. Jaya Amitabh Bachchan'.

Reacting to Singh, Bachchan said, "Sir, sirf Jaya Bachchan bolte to kaafi hojata (It would’ve been enough to call me Jaya Bachchan)."

The Deputy Chairman responded saying her name was registered in that manner, prompting the Rajya Sabha MP to say "it's a new practice".

"Ye jo hain kuch naya tarika hain ki mahilaayen apne pati ke naam se jaani jaye. Unka koi astitva nahi. Unki koi upalabdh hi nahi hain, apne mein aur astitva nahi hain. Ye jo naya shuru hua hain, I just… (Some new practice has emerged that women have to be known by their husband's name. Women have no identity and achievements. This new practice, I just…)," she told the Deputy Chairman.

Now, Jaya Bachchan's nomination form written as 'Jaya Amitabh Bachchan' dated 2018 has gone viral on social media.

Several netizens have slammed the veteran actress for her response when she had herself mentioned Amitabh in the nomination papers.
