Narendra Modi says his talks with Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh was 'productive'

Indian PM Narendra Modi on Thursday said he held a productive talk with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh in New Delhi.

" Earlier today, held very productive talks with PM Phạm Minh Chinh of Vietnam. India cherishes the strong friendship with Vietnam. Over the years, we have deepened cooperation in trade, energy, technology, security, connectivity and more. Cultural and people-to-people linkages have also become stronger,"Modi wrote on X after the meeting.

Modi said he discussed with the Vietnamese leader about scopes in sectors like defence, maritime trade, green economy, MSME where future development is to ensure further ties between the two nations.

The Vietnamese leader was visiting India at the invitation of Modi.

He visited India from July 30 to August 1.

India and Vietnam have age-old historical and civilizational ties, which were elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during the visit of Prime Minister to Vietnam in September 2016. India considers Vietnam as a key pillar of its Act East Policy and an important partner in its Indo-Pacific vision, read the statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.
