A private helicopter crashed near Kondhavle village in Maharashtra's Pune district on Saturday which left the pilot and three other passengers injured.

The helicopter was reportedly flying from Mumbai to Hyderabad when the incident occurred.

According to media reports, strong winds and heavy rainfall in the region are suspected to be the cause of the crash.

The chopper, an AW 139, belonged to a private operator named Global Vectra Helicorp.

The pilot, identified as Anand, was injured in the crash and has been taken to  Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Locals rushed to the spot to help the passengers.

A team from the local Paud police station also reached the spot after they received information about the incident.

The police told The Indian Express the pilot was injured while the three passengers in the chopper were stable with minor injuries.

SP Pankaj Deshmukh told the Indian newspaper, “The pilot has been hospitalised while the passengers do not have serious injuries.”

A private helicopter, which was on its way to pick up Shiv Sena Deputy Leader Sushma Andhare, suddenly crashed on landing in May.

The pilot, however, survived since he jumped off the helicopter before it crashed.
