Guwahati, July 11 (IBNS): At least 14 people are feared dead in a massive landslide in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.

The incident took place at Laptap village under Toru circle, about 20 km away from Sagalee in Papum Pare district at around 3-30 pm on Tuesday following torrential rains in the bordering Indian state with China in past couple of days.

A massive landslide triggered by incessant rains had washed away five houses at the area.

A top official of Papum Pare district said that 14 people are feared dead and many more trapped inside the debris.

Meanwhile, the rescue teams of NDRF, SDRF and state police have rushed to the area.

Rescue operation is on and more details are awaited.

Last week, over 150 people were trapped at Sagalee area in Papum Pare district following massive landslides and later they were rescued by Indian Air Force (IAF) before an IAF chopper crashed.
