1.5 lakh daily wagers to be absorbed in Jammu and Kashmir: Mir Junaid

Jammu/IBNS: Jammu and Kashmir Workers Party President, Junaid Mir on Friday met Lt Governor of the J&K UT and discussed various issues and sought redressal of the youth-related grievances at earliest.

"I raised various issues with the Hon'ble LG of our Union Territory and sought immediate redressal of the genuine grievances, "said Mir.

A handout released by the JKWP informed that the issue of NIS trained youngsters who have been deprived of salaries and duties was also discussed.

In this matter, LG has asked Chief Secretary to immediately look into the matter and solve their issue at an earliest.

Meanwhile, strengthening the democracy at grass roots were also discussed in which trainings for elected panchayat representatives and BDC members will come into fore for dealing with public interests. This will strengthen the democracy at grass roots reads the handout.

Issues of 1.5 lakh dailywagers was also discussed, "The previous regimes had played with their emotions and everytime faked that they will resolve their issue. But today I was assured by Hon'ble Governor that every single dailywager will be absorbed so they can live their dignified life," said Mir.

He further added that issues pertaining to JKCA, PHE were discussed in detail and assurances were given for redressal of the same. 

"The employees issues of PHE, NRHM Jr Pharmacists were threadbare discussed and assurances was given to solve them at earliest by Hon'ble Lt Governor, " said Mir.

It was also discussed that road safety measures be taken to prevent the loss of lives.

The issues of road macdamization throughout the UT was raised besides speedy completion of Jammu to Srinagar National Highway was also raised.

"Apart from completion of National Highway and macdamization, I requested hon'ble LG for development of sports fields across the UT so that our youth could excel in the arena at international level, " said Mir 

Pertinently various developmental issues pertaining to Pir Panchal range, Kupwara Tanghdar and Jammu were also discussed.

"It will be really a lifetime service towards people if metro comes and in this connection, I was assured that developmental works will be speeded up and metro line will be established. Besides the setup of IT industries which not only increase the economic value but also help in employment generation, " added Mir

The scholarship schemes specifically for students under PMSS will be made more transparent with accountability. "Instead of brokers in between the students and the institutes, the scholarship money will directly go into the accounts now and it will be more transparent with great accountability, " said Mir.

Meanwhile, it was also discussed that measures be taken to safe passage the Kashmiris from Iran against the spread of Coronavirus in that country.

"Hon'ble LG has assured me that every single Kashmiri who is in Iran will be brought back safely, " Mir added.

Further more, protection of minorities in the UT was also discussed and Return Of Kashmiri Pandits was also discussed.

"We are committed to dignified Return our Kashmir Pandit brethens and I was assured that their return will be made possible in the shortest time," Mir added.

The meeting lasted for about 1 hour.
