Lucknow, Aug 11 (IBNS): As a result of shortage of liquid oxygen faced by a hospital in eastern Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district, at least 30 children and infants have died in less than 48 hours, media reports said.

According to reports, out of the 30 deaths, 17 have died in the neo-natal intensive care unit, eight in the paediatric ward and five in the Acute Encephalitis Syndrome ward.

This medical college is the largest hospital in UP's Gorakhpur district.

According to the district administration, supply of liquid oxygen had been disrupted due to delay in payments by the hospital.
