5.8 earthquake hits Afghanistan,tremors felt in parts of north India

Kabul/New Delhi, Jan 2 (IBNS) An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter Scale rocked Afghanistan on Saturday with tremors of it being felt in parts of north India, officials said.

The earthquake occurred at around 14:07 IST.

The epicentre of the quake was located at 36.5 degrees north and 70.9  degrees east in Hindukush region, the IMD website said.

No damages or casualty have been reported so far.

The tremors of the quake was felt across north India including New Delhi.
