Aam Aadmi Party names Isudan Gadhvi as Gujarat Chief Minister candidate

| @indiablooms | Nov 04, 2022, at 08:12 pm

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday named Isudan Gadhvi as Gujarat Chief Minister candidate.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal named the candidate.

The candidate will be named on the basis of public opinion.

Isudan Gadhvi thanked Arvind Kejriwal and his government for being named as the candidate.

Last week, Kejriwal had launched a campaign to choose the AAP face for the state elections which will be held early December.

The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced Gujarat, which is also Prime Minister Narendra Modi's homestate, will go to polling in two phases on Dec 1 and Dec 5.

The results will be declared on Dec 8.

Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will face a reelection in both the states.

The battle for Gujarat is set to be three-cornered as the AAP is aggressively campaigning to oust the BJP, which has been ruling the state for nearly three decades.

The Congress, which was close to a win in the 2017 assembly elections in the western state, is also fighting for its relevance.

Who is Isudan Gadhvi?

Isudan Gadhvi is a former journalist who was known as a TV journalist and editor of VTV News as well as anchor of his popular news show Mahamanthan at VTV Gujarati.

In June 2021, Isudan Gadhvi joined the AAP Party facilitated by Arvind Kejriwal who arrived in Ahmedabad to inaugurate AAP's state headquarters.

He is the National Joint General Secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party and a member of its National Executive.
