AAP hands over CD to Jung on BJP's horse-trading

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IBNS): A section of Aam Admi Party (AAP) leaders, led by its chief Arvind Kejriwal, on Wednesday met with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, reports said.

The AAP leaders asked Jung to withdraw his letter to the President Pranab Mukherjee in which he reportedly recommended the BJP, as the single largest party, to be invited to form government in Delhi.

They also handed over a CD of a “sting” operation to the Lieutenant Governor showing that a BJP leader, Sher Singh Dagar, allegedly offering AAP legislator Dinesh Mohaniya Rs. 4 crore to switch sides, sources said.

The 17-minute video showed how the BJP was trying to woo opposition legislators with the offer of money and posts.

With 29 legislators, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in the Delhi assembly. It was just five legislators short of a majority.

The BJP had won 31 seats but three party MLAs, including Harsh Vardhan, contested and won the Lok Sabha election in May this year.

Kejriwal’s AAP, with 28 legislators, had formed government with help from the Congress which was reduced to just eight seats after 15 years in power. But the AAP supremo had resigned after 49 days of assuming office of the chief minister, followed by the President’s Rule that was imposed in February this year.
