AIMIM's Akbaruddin Owaisi takes oath as Telangana assembly Pro-Tem Speaker

Hyderabad/UNI: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi on Saturday took oath as Pro-Tem Speaker of Telangana Legislative Assembly in Raj Bhawan here on Saturday.

Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has administered the oath of office to Akbar Uddin Owaisi, as Member of Legislative Assembly (Pro-Tem Speaker) of Telangana State Legislative Assembly.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet ministers, Chief Secretary, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Congress assumed power for the first time in the 119-member assembly winning 64 seats as opposed to 39 of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

The rest of the seats were won by Bharatiya Janata Party (8), AIMIM (7) and CPI (1).
