African-American singer Mary Millben appreciated Indian PM Narendra Modi for honouring Jesus Christ and said his words touched her.

"Bless you, @PMOIndia. Jesus Christ is the greatest gift and example of love. Thank you #PMModi for honoring my Savior Jesus Christ publicly at the @IndianBishops Christmas Celebration. Your words touched me," Millben wrote on X.

She further said: "Merry Christmas to all my brothers and sisters in #India."

Millben met Modi during his US tour in 2023.

Millben performed the Indian national anthem during an event at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C., in 2023.

She earned media attention by touching Modi's feet to seek his blessings.

She had praised Modi's leadership on several occasions.

Modi participated in the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi, on Monday.

This was the first time a Prime Minister had attended such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

The Prime Minister also interacted with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent  leaders of the Church.
