Amethi projects stopped by BJP will resume after Congress comes to power: Rahul
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI): Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections for Amethi parliamentary constituency on May 6, Congress president and sitting MP from the seat Rahul gandhi on Friday promised that all the developmental works for Amethi that had been put on hold by the BJP Government at the centre would be resumed once the Congress comes to power.
Calling people of Amrthi his 'family', Rahul said: "Amethi is my family. My family in Amethi gives me strength to always stand by truth, to listen to the pain of the poor and the weak and to resolve for securing eaual justice to all."
He said that he has tried to bind the country, from North to South and from east to West based on the message of the love that he has got from people of Amethi.
"Today on the one hand there is the voice of the Congress emanating from my karambhoomi of Amathi that calls for listening to voice of farmers, youth, poor, women and small shopkeepers and working for their uplift. On the other hand, there is the thought process of the BJP whose objective is to give ownership of the country to 15 to 20 industrialists. The Congress says resources of the country only belong to its people while in the BJP formula, they are owned by Anil Ambani,” he said.
Mr Gandhi said said that the voice of 'Nyay' (justice) emanating from Amethi was finding its resonance across the country.
"The whole country is standing against the injustice of the five years of the BJP and with the 'voice of 'Nyay' (jusrtice)," he said.
Charging the BJP of spreading lies during the election casmpaign, Rahul said: "My Amathi family knows that during the time of elections, BJP spread a 'factory of lies' and indulge in indiscriminate use of money power. But the BJP perhaps does not know that strength of the people of Amethi lies in their truth, pride and simplicity."
He said if the Congress came back to power, it would resume all developmental works stopped by the BJP in the city.
“I vow to Amethi’s people that all developmental work, stopped by the BJP would resume its pace if the Congress elected to power," he said and requested people of the area to come and vote in big numbers on May 6 to ensure win of this member of their family.
Amethi will vote on May 6.
