Amid ISIS alert, Letter warns against President Hollande in India
Francois Hollande, who is the chief guest for Republic Day celebrations, is likely to be received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Janurary 24 at the Chandigarh Air Force Station.
Hollande will reach Chandigarh at 1 PM where he and PM Modi will spend the whole day and will leave for New Delhi in the evening. He is expected to land in New Delhi at 6 PM.
Hollande will stay at the Taj Hotel for some hours.
A security team from France is likely to reach Chandigarh on Wednesday. Nearly 6000 security personnel from Chandigarh, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh will be deployed in and around Chandigarh.
A recent review of security, customary ahead of Republic Day, was led by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and officials concluded that an ISIS threat "is very real".
