New Delhi, May 16 (IBNS): With Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) registering a thumping victory in the Lok Sabha polls on Friday Narendra Modi's close aide Amit Shah said his party will fulfil the aspirations of the people.

"After 1984, this is the first time a single party has got simple majority on its own. This is a victory of the country and its people. Ever since the BJP announced Modi's name for prime minister's post, we knew public support was wholly with us," he said.

"In the days to come, BJP will give a government that will fulfill the aspirations of the people, including in UP," he said.
