Amit Shah takes charge of Home Ministry
New Delhi, Jun 1 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah, a new face in the Modi cabinet, took charge as the Home Minister of the country on Saturday.
Shah, an MP from Gujarat's Gandhinagar, took oath as the minister on Thursday.
He has won from Gandhinagar with a margin close to five lakh votes.
The BJP chief was the Home Minister of Gujarat under then Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
In the first term of the BJP government, Rajnath Singh was the Union Home Minister. Singh has now been handed over the Defence Ministry.
