APSC cash-for-job scam : More officials likely to be summoned, police seized 1265 answer scripts
The sleuths of Dibrugarh police on Wednesday summoned another APS official in connection with the scam.
The investigating team had asked all the officials to appear before the police at the Assam Administration Staff College premises at Khanapara on June 9 next.
A top police official said that, on Wednesday the team summoned to Hemanta Saikia who selected for the APS in 2015.
Earlier, the investigating team had summoned to 25 ASC, APS and other associate services officials.
On the other hand, the sleuths of Dibrugarh police on Wednesday had submitted the 1265 answer scripts before the court, which were seized by the investigating team from the APSC office on Tuesday night.
A team of Dibrugarh police led by ASP Surajit Singh Panesar and Subhashis Baruah had raided the APSC on Tuesday and seized the answer scripts.
“We have seized a total of 1175 answer scripts of APSC combined competitive (main) examination held in 2013 and 90 answer scripts of 2015 examination from the commission office. After submitting before the court, it will be sent to forensic laboratory,” ASP Surajit Singh Panesar said.
The investigating had earlier seized over 990 answer scripts of the APSC examination held in 2015 from the strong room in the commission office.
Meanwhile, a top Assam cops said that, more officials are under police scanner and few more officials would likely to be summoned soon.
Police had already arrested three ACS officials named Bhaskarjyoti Dev Sharma, Bhaskar Dutta and Amit Sharma in connection with the scam.
Apart from these officials, police had also arrested former chairman of APSC Rakesh Paul, his two associate members Samedur Rahman, Basanta Doley, Pabitra Koiborta, Nabakanta Patir.
