Arun Jaitley admitted to Delhi AIIMS with breathing troubles
New Delhi, Aug 9 (IBNS): Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been admitted to Delhi's AIIMS hospital on Friday morning as he was suffering from breathing problems, media reports said.
Jaitley had stepped down as the Finance Minister earlier this year citing health troubles.
He had also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to keep him out of his newly formed Cabinet owing to his degrading health.
Jaitley had then informed the PM that he wished to opt out of the new National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government over health issues.
In a letter, Jaitley had urged Modi not to give him any responsibility of the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA government for now.
"I am writing to you to formally request you that I should be allowed a reasonable time for myself, my treatment and my health and, therefore, not be a part of any responsibility, for the present, in the new Government," Jaitley had wrote.
