Arunachal Pradesh Guv reviews road connectivity, advises officials to work within fixed time frame
Guwahati, Jul 24 (IBNS): Continuing his effort towards strengthening the road connectivity in the State, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) convened a high-level meeting at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar on Wednesday.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, RWD Minister Honchun Ngandam, Urban Development Minister Kamlung Mossang, Commissioner GS Meena, PCCF Rabindra Kumar, RWD Secretary Kapa Kholie, RWD Chief Engineer Er. Doli Nyodu and RWD Executive Engineer Er. N. Rike were present in the meeting.
The meeting, inter alia, discussed in detail about the decades-long pending Miao-Vijoynagar Road construction in a time-bound schedule.
The Arunachal Pradesh Governor, once again reiterated for a concerted effort from all stakeholders for building good road connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh. Sharing his concern about roadblocks and damages, he said that good road is in absolute public interest and development of the State.
The Governor emphasized on the proactive role of the government departments.
"The departments must be sincere and persistence in their approach and at the same time the private constructing agencies must realize their responsibilities to ensure quality of work to avoid recurring incidences of road damages during rainy seasons," the Governor said.
The Governor advised the officials to work within a fixed time frame. He suggested that the work offseason, particularly the rainy season must be used for documentary and permission seeking purpose and for clearing of hurdles, if any.
Earlier, the ministers, senior officers and engineers briefed the Governor about the road connectivity with reference to strategic roads particularly Miao-Vijoynagar road in Changlang District. They discussed issues, challenges and way ahead for the road projects.
