Arunachal Rang Mahotsav: PM Narendra Modi praises month-long theatre festival for showcasing cultural tapestry of state

Guwahati: The Arunachal Pradesh government initiated month-long theatre festival, which concluded recently, was appreciated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who said the event celebrated the rich cultural tapestry of the state.

The festival was held as a part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X: " Arunachal Rang Mahotsav is more than just a programme; it's a celebration of Arunachal Pradesh's rich cultural tapestry. It aligns with the principles of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Good to see this programme being held in different parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Guwahati."

The festival was titled ‘Arunachal Rang Mahotsav’.

The festival, which took place across four Indian cities, concluded recently in Assam's Guwahati city.

The first leg of the four-day program commenced in New Delhi on 11th July 2023, followed by performances in Mumbai, Kolkata and the last leg of the festival culminated in Guwahati from 8th August 2023 onward till 11th August 2023, reports Arunachal 24.

Arunachal CM Pema Khandu appreciated the success of the event and posted on X: "Drawing from the values propagated by Adarniya Sardar Patel of Shrestha Bharat, and guided by vision of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat of Hon PM Shri @narendramodi ji, we're glad at the celebration of #Arunachal Rang Mahotsav in Guwahati. It gave us an opportunity to showcase our rich cultural heritage and traditions to the world."

"The festival has left us with a treasure trove of unforgettable moments and experiences. My sincere thanks to Hon Assam CM Shri@himantabiswa ji for his gracious presence on the occasion," he said.

Khandu said: "I extend my gratitude to all stakeholders for joining hands to further strengthen the ideals of unity in diversity as a part of EkBharatShresthaBharat initiative. We must continue celebrating the cultural vibrancy of ."

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma described the festival as 'fabulous'.
