Arvind Kejriwal, AAP leaders to protest against proposed amendment to Delhi territory act

New Delhi/UNI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Rai said that party ministers will hold a massive protest here on Wednesday against the Union Government's proposed amendment to the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) Act that gives 'all powers' to the Lieutenant Governor.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, MLAs and Cabinet Ministers will be present at the protest site-Jantar Mantar-tomorrow afternoon, employment Minister Gopal Rai posted on Twitter.

Addressing a press conference, Rai alleged, ''AAP government's growing popularity is not going down well with the BJP government at the Centre."

He alleged that the Union government is trying to weaken the elected government in the national capital.

The GNCTD (Amendment) Bill, introduced in the Lok Sabha by Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy, makes it mandatory for the Delhi government to take the opinion of the Lieutenant Governor (LG) before any executive action in the national capital.
