As Chandrababu Naidu's new govt demolishes YSRCP office citing illegality, Jagan Reddy cries 'vendetta politics'

Amaravati/IBNS: Municipal authorities have demolished an under-construction party office of former Andhra  Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's outfit YSRCP  in Guntur district on Saturday morning citing its illegality, even as the former CM cried "vendetta politics" by new Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu.

According to media reports, Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) swung into action in the early hours of Saturday with bulldozers to start demolishing the under construction party office in Tadepalli.

The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) had earlier served  notice to Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party, simply known as the YSR Congress Party or YSRCP, over the alleged illegal construction.

As the bulldozers and excavators started tearing down the building, Jagan Reddy accused  Chandrababu Naidu of "vendetta politics".

YSRCP said the demolition was carried out though the party had moved the High Court, challenging the  CRDA.

"A dictator bulldozed the nearly completed @YSRCParty central office at Tadepalli. The orders of the High Court were ignored. Law and justice have completely disappeared in the state. Chandrababu, who is shedding blood due to the violent incidents that are taking place after the elections, has given a violent message about how the regime is going to be for these five years through this incident. These threats, these acts of violence @YSRCParty  have no bow, no turning back. We will fight hard on behalf of the people, for the people and with the people. I request all the democrats of the country to condemn the misdeeds of Chandrababu," posted Jagan Reddy on X.

Ishaq Bhasha, YSRCP MLC, on the party's Facebook posted: "Nara Chandrababu Naidu, we are all seeing how the new government is creating havoc. Demolition of the YSRCP building which is under construction even before 24 hours of taking oath is a proof of their demon rule."

Another former Jagan Reddy government minister, Kakani Govardhan Reddy, posted that the demolition is the climax of the actions of the TDP party's orbit. He alleged that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) attacks on YCP leaders started within a few days of coming to power as they are destroying the properties of YCP leaders.

"In some places private individuals are destroying the properties of YCP leaders without giving notices and government intervention.. The sins committed by TDP leaders will become curses for them in future," he said.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on June 12 for the second time after his party swept the assembly elections in the state.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is an ally along with actor-turned politician Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party.

The TDP, Jana Sena Party and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which are in an alliance, have bagged 135, 21 and eight seats respectively .YSRCP, which came to power in 2019, won only 11 seats in 2024.
