Assam Rifles recover a huge cache of weapons in Manipur
Tamenglong/IBNS: Tamenglong Battalion under the aegis of 22sect/Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from Kahulong village in Manipur's Tamenglong district.
Based on specific inputs, regarding movement of armed cadres at night and their likely interference during next day voting, 44 Assam Rifles launched an operation on Mar 5.
Later a search operation was conducted which led to the recovery of a cache of war-like stores which included thirteen pistols of various types, magazines and eleven live rounds.
The recovered arms and ammunition will be handed over to Tamenglong Police Station for further legal action.
Locals thanked Assam Rifles for their help in the conduct of safe, free and fair elections.
