Assam Rifles seized drugs worth of Rs 1.29 crore in Manipur

Guwahati, July 29 (IBNS): The troops of Assam Rifles have seized huge quantity of contraband drugs worth Rs 1.29 crore in the international market in Manipur’s Moreh town area. 

According to reports based on intelligence input, the Tengnoupal Battalion of Assam Rifles intercepted an Eeco Van bearing registration number of MN02B 4199 at Khudengthabi Check post along Imphal-Moreh National Highway (NH - 102) on July 27 evening.

A top official of Assam Rifles said that during the search, the security personnel recovered approximately 258 grams of heroin powder from a woman travelling in the vehicle.

The woman carrying the drugs was identified as Haulunching Zou (25) from Phaicham Vegas, Moreh sub-division in Tengnoupal district.

Later, the apprehended individual, along with the seized items, have been handed over to Moreh police station.

Security forces had earlier seized huge quantity of drugs in Moreh, bordering town along with Indo-Myanmar border.
