Bhubaneswar, Nov 24 (IBNS): Altogether 20 human skulls were recovered from under a bridge in Odisha’s Puri district on Sunday, media reports said.

The skulls were recovered under the Kusabhadra River on Puri-Konark road, about 25 km from the state capital of Bhubaneswar.

According to Nimapada Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Subash Mohanty, three buffalo skulls and some bones were recovered from the river bed along with the 20 human skulls.

Mohanty said some puja materials like vermilion were also found at the site.

He said it could be the work of some tantriks who might carry out their rituals at the place. The police are now investigating into the matter, reports said.
