Atishi Pamphlet row: AAP sends legal notice to BJP, Gautam Gambhir

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday sent a legal notice to BJP and it’s East Delhi Lok Sabha candidate Gautam Gambhir in connection with derogatory pamphlet against it’s party nominee Atishi from the same parliamentary seat.

The notice sent by AAP to BJP and Mr Gambhir called upon them to tender immediately an apology and issue it in print, along with true and correct facts, in various newspapers in wide circulation in the NCT of Delhi as well as across India prominently within 24 hrs of receipt of this notice.

It may be mentioned that Ms Atishi and her party colleague and Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, during a press conference on Thursday, charged the cricketer-turned-politician, Mr Gambhir, of circulating the derogatory pamphlet.

The same day, the BJP’s nominee Mr Gambhir sent a defamation notice to AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, Mr Sisodia, and Ms Atishi.

The issue on Friday turned ugly with AAP and Mr Gambhir engaging in a blame game on the same.

Mr Gambhir on Friday said that if AAP convenor and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal can prove that he has link with the derogatory pamphlet against his party nominee Atishi then he will hang himself in public.

"Challenge Number 3 to @ArvindKejriwal and @aap. If he can prove that I have anything to do with this pamphlet filth, then I will hang myself in public. Otherwise @ArvindKejriwal should quit politics. Accepted?," Mr Gambhir said in a tweet.
