New Delhi, Aug 5 (IBNS) : Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday alleged that the BJP and RSS were behind the attack on his car in Gujarat.

“Jo apne aap kaam karta hai, wo condemn kaise karega, (How can one, who is involved himself, condemn?)” he was quoted by the media as saying on being asked about the absence of any statement from the PM condemning the attack.

"It is a way of Modi ji’s and BJP-RSS politics, what can one say?" he also said.

Earlier, Gandhi had declared that he will not be deterred by the incident. “Narendra Modi ji’s slogans, black flags and stones will not stop us…. We will put in all our might into the service of people,” he had said on Twitter. The Congress on Friday had alleged that BJP workers attacked party vice president RahulGandhi's car in Gujarat's Banaskantha area.

Rahul Gandhi is currently visiting Gujarat to meet flood-hit people in the state.

The Congress shared an image of Rahul Gandhi's car on Twitter.

The Congress said Rahul Gandhi was fine but his team members were injured in the attack.

Along with the picture, the party tweeted: "Congress VP Rahul Gandhi is fine but team members are injured. #BJPGoons try to harm us, but we will only emerge stronger!"

Congress leaders reacted strongly to the attack, with former PM Manmohan Singhsaying, “Political violence has no place in a functioning democracy.”
