New Delhi, Jan 3 (IBNS): A day when West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attacked the Centre over the arrest of one of its MPs Sudip Bandyopadhyay in connection with the ongoing investigation into Rose Valley chit fund scam, BJP MP Babul Supriyo demanded for establishing President's rule in the state.

"Riots, Rival Political Offices being attacked, all govt. agencies, IT, CBI, ED, even army facing TMC atrocity•Time for Prez Rule in Bengal," Babul Supriyo tweeted.

He said: "DIDI the WB Police Min, #is giving inflammatory statements inciting mobs across the state 2 attack BJP party offices#PrezRuleinDidi'sBengal."

At least 20 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, who are generally used for VVIP's security, have been deployed in and around the BJP headquarters in Kolkata following an attack by the angry Trinamool Congress supporters over the CBI arrest of party MP Sudip Bandopadhyay.

The Trinamool Congress demonstration before the office was still underway at around 730 pm.

Soon after West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee called party MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay's arrest a vendetta politics of BJP-ruled Central government, several activists of her party and its student wing- Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP)- allegedly attacked BJP headquarter at Central Avenue area in north Kolkata on Tuesday evening, reports said.

According to reports, a large number of Trinamool supporters vandalized BJP headquarters and pelted stones aiming at the BJP activists.

At least 11 activists of BJP were reportedly injured in the sudden attack, the BJP claimed.

Thousands of TMC supporters have blocked both sides of the BJP party office, triggering tension in the area. Traffic was hit on CR Avenue.

A heavy police force was earlier deployed at the scene to bring the situation under control.

Earlier in the afternoon, the CBI booked TMC Lok Sabha MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay for his alleged links with Rose Valley ponzi firm scam.
