Kolkata, Mar 22 (IBNS): Showing courtesy to his political rival, Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s sitting MP and celebrity candidate Dev (Deepak Adhikari) wished former IPS officer and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Bharati Ghosh for contesting the Lok Sabha elections from West Bengal's Ghatal constituency.

Dev, who is a leading Tollywood actor, tweeted, "Congratulations to BJP candidate Bharati Ghosh. She was the Superintendent of Police in the district. She also helped in the developmental works undertaken by the state government. We will work together for the developmental works in Ghatal irrespective of our individual win or loss in the elections."

Ghosh, who was earlier close to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, recently joined the BJP.

Earlier, Dev had congratulated CPI-M candidate Tapan Ganguly from Ghatal for contesting the forthcoming polls.

"Congratulations to CPI-M candidate Tapan Ganguly. We will together share happiness and sadness of residents of Ghatal irrespective of our individual win or loss in the elections. We will work together for the development of Ghatal. Our difference of opinions should not be hurdle towards development," the 36-year old Tollywood star had tweeted.

Dev had contested and won from Ghatal constituency in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
