Bhadohi Police arrests all three killers of minor girl within 7 hrs of crime

Lucknow/IBNS: An 11-year-old Dalit girl was found murdered in eastern Uttar Pradesh's Bhadohi on Thursday, two days after a 19-year-old girl died of grave injuries inflicted on her by four upper-caste men and her hasty cremation by the state police at 2:30 am, keeping her family members locked in their home. However, the state police, which is under fierce criticism, caught the killers of the minor girl within seven hours of the crime.

The young girl's head was bashed in with bricks, police said, adding that a probe has been launched into her death.

Police said the girl's body was found in the fields where she had gone to answer nature's call. Her brother spotted her when he went to search for her when she failed to return for a long time.

Police are suspecting she could have been raped

"It is possible the child was raped as there appears to be no other motive to kill her.  She was only 14, had enmity with no one. But anything about the crime can be confirmed only after the post-mortem report comes," said Ram Badan Singh, an officer of the local police.

However, late Thursday night, the Bhadohi Police said it has nabbed all the assailants in the case within seven hours of the crime.

In a tweet, Bhadohi Police said the killers--Kundan, Collector and Prince--all residents of Bhadohi had an old dispute with the victim's family. On September 28 last, they had a verbal scuffle with the girl's family and threatened them with dire consequences. In the aftermath of that altercation, they murdered the girl when she had gone to the fields to relieve herself.

All the three accused have confessed to having committed the crime out of old enmity, police added.

Unlike the Hathras police, which has come under scanner over multiple slips in the brutal assault of the 19-year-old Dalit girl, Bhadohi Police swung into action to track the teen's murderers.

Meanwhile, Congress, whose senior leaders, including Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi and leader of opposition in Parliament Adir Chowdhury, were detained today while on their way to Hathras rape victim's house, slammed the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government of Uttar Pradesh over serial rape and deaths of young girls in the state and demanded his resignation.

The party tweeting on the Bhadohi case under the hashtag #JusticeForIndiasDaughters, wrote: "Is there no end to the cruelty BJP will allow? Barely 40 kms from the PM's constituency, another child has been brutalised. CM Ajay Bisht must resign."
