Bhumata Ranragini Brigade activists stopped from entering Shani Shingnapur Temple
In a landmark verdict, delivered by the Bombay Hich Court on Friday, it said that women were no longer prone to discrimination and should be allowed to enter all parts of all temples across the state, according to reports.
The verdict read, "It is the fundamental right of a woman and the government's fundamental duty to protect their right."
Reacting to the verdict, the Maharashtra government said that they will abide by it and will take necessary steps while implementing it.
The government also said that it'll implement a law by which an offender will be booked for at least six months, pertaining to the case.
