BJP, Congress leaders unite to praise Rohit Sharma for his charismatic 140 runs knock against Pakistan

New Delhi, June 16 (IBNS); They may share different opinions in the world of politics, but on Sunday both the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders united in praising Indian opener Rohit Sharma as he smashed a century in the high-voltage World Cup clash against Pakistan.

 

Rohit hit his 24th ODI century in the crucial match which is seen by fans in both the countries as a prestige battle.

Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia tweeted: "Tremendous innings by @ImRo45 Rohit sharma! Has put india in the driving seat #INDvsPAK ! Jai ho!."

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain also praised the Indian hitman and said: "Brilliant performance by Rohit Sharma @ImRo45 ! His 140 runs has given #TeamIndia a very strong base. Now we should be able to reach a formidable score. #IndiavsPakistan #WorldCup2019."

Ending his charismatic innings of 140 runs, Indian opener Rohit Sharma was sent back to the pavilion by Pakistan in the 39th over of the high-voltage World Cup match here on Sunday.

Hasan Ali picked up the wicket to end the partnership between Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Indian scorecard read 234 for the loss of two wicket when Sharma returned to the pavilion after playing his stormy knock.

Sharma hammered 14 fours and three sixes in his 113-ball knock.

India already lost the wicket of KL Rahul earlier.

Pakistan earlier won the toss and opted to field first.

Current situation when the report was filed:

Hardik Pandya (22*) and Virat Kohli (48*) were batting as India posted 274 runs for the loss of two wickets after 43 overs.
