New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) A demonstration was held at the residence of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal here on Thursday under the leadership of Delhi BJP Poorvanchal Morcha president Manish Singh.

The workers assembled at Chandagi Ram Akhara and marched towards CM Residence raising slogans.

The workers were agitated over the objectionable statement made against Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari by Mr Kejriwal in connection with NRC.

Displaying placards written 'Kejriwal Sharm Karo', the workers crossed the barricades put up by the Police and reached near the residence of Mr Kejriwal where the police used water cannons and used force to stop them.

The police arrested all the workers and took them to the Police Station in buses.

Delhi BJP Vice-President Abhay Verma said, ''Does Mr Kejriwal treat the Poorvanchalis as illegal Bangladeshis, Rohangiya or illegal infiltrators? Mr Kejriwal wants to drive away the people of other states living in Delhi whereas they are contributing in the development of Delhi.

"This is part of the conspiracy of Mr Kejriwal to divide the country which will not be tolerated by the people of Delhi.

"Since Mr Kejriwal has lost his public support and has been exposed and hence in order to protect his political future in Delhi, sometimes he is announcing freebies and sometimes dividing the society.

"The people of Delhi have already voted against Aam Aadmi Party in the Lok Sabha Elections and even in the next Assembly Elections they will vote against AAP.''

Addressing large number of demonstrators, Delhi BJP Poorvanchal Morcha president Manish Singh said, ''Mr Kejriwal has hurt the pride of Poorvanchalis, by comparing Mr Tiwari with illegal Bangladeshi and Rohangiya infiltrators.

" In the year 2015, the Poorvanchalis had given support, love and blessings to the AAP so that it worked to connect them with the mainstream, but Mr Kejriwal has many times tried to snub them on several occasions.

"The sentiments of lakhs of Poorvanchalis have been offended by the statement of Mr Kejriwal and hence he should immediately apologize to them. The people of Poorvanchal living in Delhi are contributing in the various ways in the development of Delhi.

''Today every hardworking, honest and responsible Poorvanchalis are angry and demand answer from Chief Minister of Delhi that when you do nothing for the Poorvanchalis then you have no right to insult them.

"Mr Kejriwal claims to be educated and occupying a constitutional position. Previously he was also an Officer under Central Government but in spite of this he has no knowledge of the National Register of Citizens. If Kejriwal had sufficient knowledge about it then he may not have used insulting words and become a subject of ridicule.

"Lakhs of Poorvanchalis will not forgive Kejriwal for such insulting statement. The people of Poorvanchal will certainly show their strength in the forthcoming Assembly Elections and vote against the Aam Aadmi Party to dislodge them from power."
