Chandigarh, Mar 16 (IBNS): Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stolen governments in Goa and Manipur, while he was present to attend the oath taking ceremony of Punjab Congress.

Speaking about the formation of governments in both the states, Gandhi said: "BJP has formed the government with money power."

Former Defence Minister Manohar Parrkar and N Biren Singh became CM of Goa and Manipur respectively.

In both Goa and Manipur, BJP formed the government with the support of other smaller parties and independents despite coming second in both the assembly elections.

In Manipur, the saffron party formed its government for the first time ever.

Echoing the words that he said on Wednesday, Gandhi stated that Congress' performance in all five states that went to polls as "not that bad" though they lost in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand miserably.

"We won elections in Punjab, Goa and Manipur. BJP used money power to form the governments," he said.

Captain Amrinder Singh took oath as Punjab Chief Minister on Thursday along with eight other ministers.
