Aurangabad, Maharashtra/UNI: The activists of opposition BJP will stage ‘dharna’ on Feb 25 in front of the Tehsil office here, to protest against the ruling MVA government.

Addressing a joint news conference at BJP office here, city president Sanjay Kenekar and district president Vijay Autade said that the party activists would stage agitation against the government for cheating the farmers and rise in incidents of attack on women.

They accused the Shiv Sena, which came to power with the help of NCP and Congress, of having betrayed the BJP.

After forming the government, they said, the Sena chief and the Chief Minister, along with the leaders of the Congress and NCP, had promised to provide compensation of Rs 25,000 per hectare to farmers.

But, the MVA government has not fulfilled this promise, they alleged.

Similarly, their announcement of loan waiver for farmers was also a fraud, they claimed and said that as a result, most farmers would not be eligible for this loan waiver.

On the contrary, the previous BJP government had waived off loans amounting to Rs 19 lakh crore of 43 lakh farmers, they also claimed/added.

Expressing serious concern about a significant rise in incidents of violence against women in the state last month, the BJP leaders accused the state
government of not taking any action against the perpetrators and alleged that the criminals have no fear of law since the MVA government came to power.
