Hyderabad, Jul 6 (UNI) Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah has asserted that the party would hoist its flag in Telangana soon.

Certainly the hoisting of the BJP flag in the state would happen, he said after launching the party's membership enrolment campaign in a function hall at Shamshabad near here on Saturday evening.

He said that the party had secured 20 per cent vote share in the recent Lok Sabha election in the state and added that he was visiting the state after the party secured a landslide victory across the country.

'The BJP has programmed to strengthen its base in the southern states of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala', Mr Shah said.

Stating that the BJP did not believe in hereditary politics and family rule, the Home Minister said that the BJP's main aim was to ensure the well being of every countryman.

He said that the BJP was not over exuberant on its massive victory in the recent Lok Sabha election, while the Congress was not able to digest its poll debacle.

The BJP President said that the party gave prominence to even grass root workers who pursue the ideals of the party for the larger good of the party.

Paying tributes to Syama Prasad Mukherjee, Mr Shah said that because of the former's efforts Jammu and Kashmir is a party of the country.

He also recalled the supreme sacrifices made by scores of people for the merger of erstwhile Hyderabad state into Indian union.

BJP's state unit president K.Laxman who welcomed Mr Shah said that attacks on the BJP workers by the ruling TRS cadre were increasing.
