BJP worker hacked to death in Karnataka's Chikmagalur
Chikmagalur, Jun 23 (IBNS): Yet another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker has been hacked to death and this time in Karnataka's Chikmagalur, media reports said.
Mohammed Anwar, who was the BJP general secretary of Chikmagalur, was on his way back to home when he was killed.
Anwar was stabbed thrice to death by bike-borne assailants, said reports.
The 44-year old worker had died on spot.
A case has been lodged while police are searching for the attackers.
Weeks ago, two BJP workers- Trilochon Mahato and Dulal- were hacked to death in West Bengal.
Dulal, 30, was found hanging from a high tension electric tower in Dabha village of West Bengal's Purulia district in early June.
Two days before Dulal's death, 19-year old Mahato was found hanging from a tree inside a jungle at Supurdi village under Balarampur Police Station limits in Purulia district of the state.
Eyewitnesses said that it was written in Bengali on the youth's t-shirt- "BJP politics at the age of just 18 years".
"A threat letter was also found near the body where it was written in Bengali- BJP politics at just 18! Today your life ends," an eyewitness told IBNS.
Both the incidents were termed by the BJP as the ruling Trinamool Congress's (TMC's) political violence in the eastern state.
