Budget session of Parliament heads towards washout
New Delhi, Apr 5 (IBNS): The Budget session of the parliament is perhaps heading towards a washout as both the houses were adjourned even on Thursday, media reports said.
In Lok Sabha, the AIADMK members went into the well to protest over the Cauvery issue, stalling the business of the house.
Congress Chairperson and Lok Sabha MP, Sonia Gandhi, was seen infuriated after Parliamentary Affairs minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, Ananth Kumar, held the principal opposition party responsible for the disruption.
However, Congress' Mallikarjun Kharge said his party is ready to debate in the parliament.
In Rajya Sabha too, the disruption continued.
After the oaths taken by the newly elected Rajya Sabha members, the opposition parties including Telegu Desam Party (TDP) and AIADMK staged protests forcing Chairman of the Upper House, M Venkaiah Naidu, to call off the day's business.
The parliament will meet for the last time in the budget session on Friday.
The BJP MPs have already declared that they will not receive the salaries for the washout days.
