Kolkata/IBNS: A division bench of the Calcutta High Court's acting Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal on Saturday granted conditional bail to Debjani Mukherjee in all cases pertaining to the Saradha chit fund scam in West Bengal, reports said.

Saradha Group's director Debjani Mukherjee, a co-accused in the multi-crore ponzi firm case along with the company's promoter Sudipta Sen, will not be released from the prison as she has multiple pending cases in Jharkhand, Odisha and Assam.

Earlier on June 16, a hearing of Mukherjee's bail plea was concluded at the Calcutta HC and the judgement was pronounced on Saturday.

According to Debjani Mukherjee's counsel, the High Court granted her bail on furnishing a bond of Rs. 2 lakh with two sureties of Rs. 1 lakh each, one of whom must be local.

The court has also slapped few conditions on the bail— Debjani Mukherjee can not leave the jurisdiction of the police station within the territorial limit of which her residence is situated except for the purpose of attending court proceedings, she has to meet the Investigating Officer of the case once every week, and Mukherjee has to deposit her passport with the concerned court.

The court also said that CBI can summon Debjani Mukherjee anytime in connection with the investigation and she has to cooperate with the central probe agency.

Earlier on Apr 22 in 2013, Debjani Mukherjee was arrested along with Sudipta Sen from J&K by the state formed Special Investigation Team (SIT) and she is in the custody since then.
