Chhattisgarh Police withdraws order to recover money given for martyr's last rites
The family of Special Police Officer Kishore Pandey was asked to return the money given from the Police Welfare Fund.
The state police sent two notices to the family demanding the money back after an error by their own department, said reports.
Following an outrage, the Chhattisgarh Police on Wednesday said they were withdrawing the order of recovering the money sent to Pandey's family.
When questioned about the matter, Union Minister and former Army Chief General VK Singh termed the incident a small mistake.
"The Congress will blame us for everything. It doesn't mean they're right. There must be some clerical error," Singh told mediapersons.
