Chidambaram mocks Modi's 'pakoda' comment, BJP hits back
New Delhi, Jan 29 (IBNS): Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sambit Patra engaged themselves in a verbal tussle over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'pakoda' comment.
Chidambaram tweeted: "Even selling pakodas is a 'job' said PM. By that logic, even begging is a job. Let's count poor or disabled persons who are forced to beg for a living as 'employed' people."

Children of politicians engaged in wheeling dealing ..is that a “Job” or should that be considered as “Employment”? https://t.co/VJfIRlgnjz
Hitting back at the former Union Minister, BJP spokesperson Patra tweeted: "MR @PChidambaram_IN , one clarification needed.. Children of politicians engaged in wheeling dealing ..is that a “Job” or should that be considered as “Employment”?"
Last year, in May, a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act was registered against Chidambaram's son Karti and others by the ED.
The case, registered in May, 2017 pertains to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) approval granted in 2006 by the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
The agency has alleged that Karti Chidambaram received money from INX Media for using his influence to manipulate a tax probe against it in a case of violation of Foreign Investment Promotion Board conditions to receive investment from Mauritius.
The CBI has said it has also recovered vouchers of Rs 10 lakh, which were allegedly paid for the services.
