New Delhi/UNI: Congress and DMK members on Tuesday staged a walkout from Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour over withdrawal of Special Protection Group (SPG) cover of the Gandhi family.

As soon as the Zero Hour commenced, Congress floor leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhry raised the issue of withdrawal of SPG cover of the Gandhi family.

''SPG protection is not an ordinary protection,'' the Congress floor leader said.

''What happened suddenly that there was withdrawal of SPG cover of the Gandhi family? Why was there a need for the withdrawal," he questioned.

DMK's TR Baalu also raised the same issue during the Zero Hour.

The House witnessed a walkout by Congress and DMK from the Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour over the issue of the withdrawal of SPG cover from the Gandhi family.

Earlier, there was a uproar in the House by Congress members during the Question Hour over the issue of the withdrawal of SPG cover from the Gandhi family.

As soon as the Question Hour commenced, the Congress, DMK and National Conference members entered the well of the House and raised slogans ''we want justice', 'Tanashahi Bandh Karo' ('Put an End to Dictatorship') and ‘vipaksh pe hamla bandh karo’ (stop attacking the Opposition).

Raising the issue of withdrawal of Special Protection Group (SPG) cover of the Gandhi family in the House, the Congress MPs, while raising slogans said there should be no politics on the name of security.
