Congress and TRS are both sides of same coin: PM Modi in Telangana

Nizamabad, Nov 27 (IBNS): At a time the ruling Telegu Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) and Congress are having a face-to-face fight in poll-bound Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hit out at both saying their political actions are identical.

Modi has attacked both the Congress and TRS for their "dynasty politics", "minority appeasement" and "vote bank politics".

Addressing a rally in Nizamabad, the Prime Minister said: "Congress as well as TRS, both the parties believe in dynastic politics. They are two sides of same coin. Both the parties appease the minority, both the parties believe in vote-bank politics, none of them have internal democracy."

Modi said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who is also the TRS chief, is following the path of the Congress, which did nothing during its rule when it came to development.

Warning Rao, he said: "The Chief Minister of this state is walking on Congress' path. He thinks that if Congress can win elections without doing anything, he too can do it too! But he must know that youth of the state are aware of the ground realities."

Citing lack of development in Nizamabad, Modi took a dig at Rao's statement of transforming the city into London, the capital city of the United Kingdom and England.

"The Chief Minister of this state says he will transform Nizamabad into London. But look at the condition of this region. The region lacks development," the Prime Minister said.

Though the term of Telangana assembly was scheduled to end in May 2018, Rao dissolve it early and went to polls.

Urging people to case their votes in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Modi took a shot at the Congress over its alleged "negative politics" and "corruption".

At a time Congress president Rahul Gandhi is attacking Modi for allegedly favouring his friends from business sector, namely, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and Anil Ambani, the Prime Minister has hit back at the principal opposition party for helping its "cronies".

Modi said: "Through 'telephone-banking' Congress got loans cleared for the cronies."

"Every state is rejecting the negative politics of Congress. I urge the people of Telangana to do the same. Reject Congress and give the BJP a chance to serve the state," he added.

The Congress is fighting the state polls in an alliance with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's Telegu Desam Party (TDP), CPI and Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS).

The state polls will be held on Dec 7 and the results will be declared on 11th of the same month.
