Congress announces presidents of 43 districts, city in UP
Lucknow/UNI: The Congress on Tuesday announced district and city party president in 43 places of Uttar Pradesh, with appointing party counsellor Mukesh Singh Chauhan as the president of Lucknow city.
UP Congress committee, in charge administration Sidharth Priya Srivastava said here that party would announce the rest of the district and city presidents very soon.
He added that 43 presidents were announced with covering important districts like Ghaziabad, Allahabad and Varanasi.
Meanwhile, sources said Brijendra Yadav will be the Ghaziabad district party chief while Manoj Kaushik will be the city president.
Similarly in Varanasi, Rajeshwar Singh would be the district chief while Raghunath Choubey would be the city president.
The party has also given representation to a good number of minority leaders as among the 43 presidents, 13 were from the community.
Nafis Ahmed has been appointed president of Allahabad city while Akbar Ali has been made Ayodhya city president.
The party was yet to announce presidents of around 20 districts or city presidents.
A few month back the party had announced president of district or city in 64 places in the state.
