Congress leader Tom Vadakkan joins BJP
New Delhi, Mar 14 (IBNS): In a jolt to Rahul Gandhi, top Congress leader Tom Vadakkan on Thursday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the General Elections, which will begin on Apr 11.
Vadakkan joined the saffron party in presence of BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
Joining Congress, Vadakkan said: "I am hurt by the Congress' stand on armed forces."
"It did hurt when Congress questioned the armed forces," he said.
He also hit out at the Congress over its "use and throw" culture.
Vadakkan is known to be a close aide of former Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Days ago, top Maharashtra Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil's son Sujay joined the BJP.
Sujay was reportedly upset after his party did not project him as the candidate from the Ahmednagar seat.
